Technorati Part Two How Do I Raise My Technorati Ranks

technorati1Anyone who blogs, or is new to blogging, knows of (or has heard of) Technorati, they may not completely understand what it means, but what they do know is it has an impact on their blog and it’s ranks. In Part One of this two part post “What Is Technorati” I gave some insight on what this popular site is, and does. In this Part Two, I will answer the question “How Do I Raise My Technorati Rank” and give you 7 Tips that you can use to help raise your ranks. It’s not a quick, overnight rank change but rather a daily tool that in time will work for you, and not against you.

How Do I Raise My Technorati Rank?

Here are 7 Tips to raise your ranks.

1. Your Content – The obvious way to increase your Technorati Ranks is to write interesting and useful content. You need to keep your content fresh and regularly updated. There are many tricks out there to better your ranks, but that will only go so far and without great content, your ranks will sink along with your blog.

2. Correct Labeling – Technorati uses both Tags and Categories for classifying your blog. Getting too creative with your Category Names could hurt you as much as over use of Tags, so you need to use Category Names that would be searched for in a search engine. Also, when Tagging your post use one with the same name as the Category Name.

3. Page Ranks – This works hand in hand with Technorati Ranks. The higher your page ranks in search engines, the more that a particular post or your site is viewed as a good source of information, and in turn is linked to,  then adds to your Authority. So you need to also focus on page ranks as this can help gain significant Authority.

4. Use Technorati Itself - Search through the site for other bloggers who already have some Authority, find some of their better written material,  and link to it. Your readers will benefit from the added information, and you may also, with a return link and increased Authority.

5. Use Favorites – Technorati Favorites are much more then just a way to organize sites you like. Use Favorites as a means of marketing. The higher your Favorites are, the more readers will feel that your blog is respected and must have something interesting to say. This, in turn, will drive traffic to your site and you’re bound to get some links as a result of a high Favorite count, increasing your Authority. You can also break into the Top 100 Favorited List. As of this writing, 368 Favorites will get you on that list.

6. Comment – Blogging is about interaction, not just on your own blog, but others as well. Read blogs and comment on them. Take time to put some thought into the comment and don’t spam. This will result in visits to your site, comments, and possible links.

7. DoFollow – Consider using DoFollow instead of the NoFollow, which is default on Wordpress. Why? DoFollow will allow those who link to you, and the links you leave, to be credited and counted. This is important to gain Authority. NoFollow is used as a means of preventing spamming. However, if you have Aksiment, it will help to keep spam to a minimal. Wordpress DoFollow Plugin

    Hi!
Thanks for the info friend but I still don’t understand about Technorati authority. What exactly is that and how to achieve a higher authority?

You get Authority when some who also uses Technorati puts a link from your site in a post or else where on their site. To gain higher Authority you need people who are signed up with Technorati to link to your site.
